Acceptable Use Policy
The rules that keep Pennapost trustworthy: no spam, scams, forged signatures or spoofed seals, fair sending limits, and how we handle abuse reports.
Updated 1 September 2026
1. Why this policy exists
A seal only means something if people can trust it. This policy sets out what you may not do with Pennapost, so every message signed and sealed with us keeps its value.
It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to every account, on every plan.
2. Forgery and impersonation
Do not imitate another person’s signature, letterhead, name or brand, or pretend to be someone you are not. Parody is fine when it is obviously parody.
Do not forge, copy or tamper with seals, spoof sender addresses or register lookalike addresses meant to deceive, such as swapping letters for numbers.
3. Spam and bulk mail
Send mail only to people who expect to hear from you. Do not send unsolicited bulk or commercial mail, buy or rent mailing lists, or harvest addresses.
Newsletters and announcements are welcome if every recipient opted in and every message has a working way to unsubscribe.
4. Sending limits
To protect the reputation of our seals, each account may send to up to 500 recipients a day on Pencil and up to 2,000 recipients a day on Fountain and Press. Press admins can request higher limits for verified team domains.
Please do not try to get around these limits by spreading mail across several accounts.
5. Scams, phishing and malware
Do not use Pennapost to trick people into giving up passwords, money or personal information, or to send viruses, ransomware or any other harmful code.
Do not send fake invoices, fake payment requests or messages that pretend to come from a bank, a government body or another trusted organisation.
6. Harassment and harmful content
Do not threaten, harass, bully or intimidate anyone, or send content that promotes violence or hatred against people because of who they are.
Never send or store sexual content involving minors. We report it to the authorities immediately and close the account.
7. Illegal activity and others’ rights
Do not use Pennapost for anything unlawful, or to share content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
8. Protecting the Service
Do not probe, scan or test the security of Pennapost without written permission, overload our systems, scrape the Service, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
If you have found a security issue, thank you. Please report it to security@pennapost.com rather than testing it further.
9. How we enforce this policy
We act on reports and on signals from our anti-abuse systems. Depending on how serious the problem is, we may warn you, slow or pause sending, hold messages, remove content, suspend the account or close it.
Where we can do so safely, we will tell you what happened and why. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or write to help@pennapost.com and a person will review it within five working days.
10. Reporting abuse
If you receive spam, phishing or forged mail from a Pennapost address, forward it with its full headers to abuse@pennapost.com. We read every report and act on it within one working day.
